We are all about Hair at SPM

On the one hand we have partner, Michael Sobey who grows hair (his moustache) and on the other hand partner Jed McNamrar who cuts his hair (head) – all in the aid of cancer research.  Recently, Jed  and our Family Lawyer, Stephen Brown shaved their heads at the public shave at Gympie Central Shopping Centre as part of the Worlds Greatest Shave, raising much needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation. We are very proud of their bravery but more importantly of the over $2000 they raised for this extremely important cause. Here’s a few pics from the day...

Family Business Duty Concession For Primary Production Business

The Family Business Duty Concessions provided for in the Duties Act 2001 (Qld) (the “Act”) have been updated and expanded. Previously, concessions applied where gifts of farmland and/or business assets, used to carry on a primary production business, were made to Transferees who are lineal descendants of the Transferor (e.g. parents to children).
