Hi Amy,

Just a quick email to again say thank you so much for all your help not only this morning but over the past week.

As you know this has been a very, very stressful period and experience for me. Your help has been much appreciated.

You took the time this morning to explain to me what was going to happen prior to when we entered the court and you guided me through everything with knowledge and most of all kindness. I was totally reliant on you today and it made things much easier on me knowing that I could trust you entirely to manage everything for me. I can't express how appreciative I am, especially given the outcome that you worked to achieve on my behalf.

Obviously the outcome was important for me, however having someone who understood my situation and intuitively helped me through all of this was equally important. You achieved both and I am grateful.

Thanks again Amy. I really appreciate it.

Adam

COVID -19 Lease Legislation Summary

RETAIL SHOP LEASES AND OTHER COMMERCIAL LEASES (COVID-19 EMERGENCY RESPONSE) REGULATION 2020 (QLD)2020 - SUMMARY OF LEGISLATION Initial Comments On 28 May 2020, the Retail Shop Leases and Other Commercial Leases (COVID-19 Emergency Response) Regulation 2020 (Qld) (“the Regulation”) was introduced into Queensland law. Taking a few weeks longer than anticipated, the Regulation went beyond what was expected, or at least what was noted by the Mandatory Code of Conduct. The Regulation has a very tenant favoured basis, and grants some significant powers, even going as far to provide avenues for landlords and tenants to be ordered to pay compensation by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (“QCAT”) if their conduct during the COVID-19 pandemic in negotiating rent is deemed unconscionable or is not in good faith.
